Salt Lake City

My goal for our drive home from Park City was to take my girls to see the Salt Lake Temple. We managed to make the stop.  It was so beautiful in person.  It was a Saturday so we got to see about 4 brides within a matter of minutes and that made it especially fun. The girls were doing their best to be reverent and were mad that I didn't pack them dresses to wear, so for next time we will be more prepared.

After we visited temple square we met up with our family friend Eric and his new baby Monroe. We haven't met the little guy yet since they live in Salt Lake so this was the perfect opportunity to finally meet Monroe.

After the park we ate, met up with Grandma and drove back to Vegas.  It was very bittersweet.  We drove from the beauty that is Utah and the fall weather into the hot desert that is Las Vegas.  However, Las Vegas is where home is and seeing Daddy after six days of being gone made for some really happy girls.

Park City

Last week was finals week for me so my Mom had the great idea to take the kids up to my Aunt Lezlie and Uncle Kevin's house in Park City so that I could have a stress free week and so that the kids could have a fun end to their summer.  I met them up there as soon as I was done with my finals.

Thursday I was finally able to drive up to meet the girls.  The ride up was so nice all by myself.  Lots of time to reflect and to think about everything except school.  That was a great feeling!  Caught the sunrise right as I was driving out of the gorge.  It was stunning.
First thing we did when I arrived was go to the Olympic Park where they have alpine slides, a ropes climbing course and zip lines. It was so much fun. The weather was perfect and the views were amazing.  I was in clean mountain air heaven.

Two of my favorite ladies.  My Mom and my Aunt Lezlie.  I learn so much from them and I appreciate all the love they show my girls.

Doing this rope course was an eye opener for me. I know my girls are getting older but sometimes I just don't get how old, brave, amazing and strong they really are. I was scared. They were scared but they just tore through this course with determination.  I have never felt more proud of my girls.

Ski lift no big deal apparently.  Except for me.  I have a thing with heights.
 The Alpine slide is fun!!!!!
This is when Alexis was like..."I want to go on the big zip line" and off she went. Maile decided last minute she wanted to go too so she jumped on two chairs behind.  They went up the lift and down the zip line about three times.

Day two I was there we went on a little hike at one of the ski resorts.  More beauty to take in more fresh air.  I could have stayed forever.

Scooter riding in my Aunts neighborhood
The sky was filled with clouds the whole time we were there.
Cousin Alex is super fun to get piggy back rides on.
In the community that my Aunt and Uncle are building their house there is a recreation spot called the "Shed" my girls got to go twice. The last night we stayed we all went out and had a great night bowling, eating and playing games. So much fun!
I love how my younger cousins hung with my girls.  It was fun to watch them get along so great!

What a neat trip for my girls. I wish our whole family could have been there the whole time but it was such a fun trip regardless. As we drove away from Park City Alexis said she was so sad she felt like crying. Little did she know I was feeling the same way.  Although I know it was time to get back to real life it was just so peaceful and beautiful there.  I can't wait to go back and neither can my girls. Next up, Salt Lake City.  Stay tuned....
