Timing

A lesson in one of my church classes on Sunday really hit home for me this week. It was about anger and how it affects family relationships. With three toddlers I am sure you can imagine the amount time I spend frustrated or angry. I see now that I am really wasting precious moments I could be sharing with my children, I just need to learn how to take things in stride...not everything is a catastrophe!! Spilled water is nothing to get my panties in a bunch about even if it is the third time in one day! Kids still need to learn right from wrong and how to be polite, good listeners, however nothing my sweet girls ever do should make me sooo angry!! And in the case it does, maybe I need a timeout along with them. Anger is not always choice but I do have the power to control how I express myself when I am angry. I know it is not going to be overnight but I know that if my behavior is more positive, those good feelings will spread quickly to all the members in my family. I must be the example, a good example. Last week seemed like torture...but I was the one who could have changed that. So lastly I just want to say that I love how each lesson in church seems to directly pertain to what is happening in my life at that very moment. Coincidence??

Yes, that is Butter

It only took five minutes of me putting on a load of laundry for Becca to tear into an apparently delicious stick of butter....I thought her love for cheese was extreme but butter??

Irish For a Day

Even with the plethora of different heritages that make up my family there is not a lick of Irish, but that didn't stop us from celebrating this fun holiday! My green food coloring is usually the least used color in my box of colors, but all that changed yesterday. My little leprechauns consumed delicious green cupcakes with green frosting of course, green milk, and clover sugar cookies. Even with way too much sugar on board we had a really fun day! It was my turn to teach preschool and it was fun having all those cuties call me"teacher", even Maile, it was pretty funny. Next it was off to the park for a quick hour of playing with friends and then back home for a nap. We ended off the night having a delicious non-Irish dinner of haystacks with the Missionaries and some friends. I will take any excuse to have fun with family and friends!!

Happy Birthday Samantha!

This weekend was my little sister's 9th birthday party. She had it at the Lied Discovery Museum and it was a blast! There is literally stuff to do there for hours. My kids were running around like little crazy people because they just wanted to play with everything! We had cake and ice cream and watched Sam open up her presents. By the end of the day, tournament first then birthday party my three babies were exhausted. I think it is so cute when they tire themselves out so much and fall asleep in the car! Thank you Sam for such a fun birthday, we love you!

2009 Nationals

Friday and Saturday Zachary competed in the ATA 2009 Nationals. The competition was pretty stiff this year, especially considering there were over 30 kids in Zachary's rank/age group. Overall Zachary took home 3rd place in sparring and some really good tips on how to improve for his next competition. Grandma Fayenette was able to make it down to watch Zachary and the kids enjoyed getting to spend time with her! Tournaments are always fun, and Zachary always makes us proud!
