Easter Sunday

The past few years we have missed church on Easter and I had forgotten just how special the day was. We made it a point to be at church this year and to help the girls understand the true meaning of Easter.  They were very receptive, Maile even realized "most holidays are about Jesus!" Smart girl that Maile.
The girls looking through their Baskets.  As usual the Easter Bunny brought swimsuits and flip-flops.
He also decided to only give one Chocolate bunny instead of the usual buckets of candy.  The girls hardly noticed.

 Pretty girls all dressed up!
My family minus one, Zachary has been going with his Mom to California the past few years for Spring Break, we missed him!
How is she even this big?  So cute!
Grandpa Mike and Grandma Marj had us over for Easter Breakfast.
 Auntie Anna and Jeff.
After brunch we were off to Church where we heard some really good talks and after church we headed to our friends parents house for a yummy dinner.  It was so nice of them to invite us considering that my family wasn't doing anything for Easter dinner since my Mom was working and my other sister was out of town.  It was a fun evening to end our Easter.

Kid's Spring Break

We kicked off Spring Break with our ward Easter Egg hunt.  It was an unusually cold day that surprised everyone but we managed to have fun regardless.  The kids had fun playing with friends and then of course hunting for eggs.

Monday I had school so my Mom and Sister babysat in the morning and we went to the park in the afternoon.  We went to the newly renovated Sunset Park and it was lots of fun!  Can't wait to go back.
Tuesday my sister and I took our kids on a hike through the old Boulder Dam train tunnels.  It is a perfect hike for little kids since it is pretty flat.  The view of the lake is amazing and there were so many pretty wild flowers to admire!  We will be going back soon and next time we will make sure we have enough time to go down and play by the lake.  Natalie kept asking to go to the big water pool.

After our long and hot hike we went back to my Mom's and let the kids jump in the freezing pool and then relax in the hot tub.  All the kids got to stay for a slumber party and we all had a good dinner together!

Wednesday morning I picked the kids up from my Mom's and then met up at the park with friends.  The kids just played and played and played.  It is so easy to sit at the park when the kids are having so much fun and letting us chat.  I really enjoy watching our kids all interact now that they are getting older.  Anyhow, after the park we took friends back home with us to play some more.  By the time we took the Lichty kids home we were tired!
Thursday we were invited to go to Red Rock with some friends from our ward.  We have only ever taken our kids on the Children's Discovery trail so it was fun to take them climbing on the sand stone rock.  I was very surprised by their ability and scared at some points too.  We felt like real mountain climbers squeezing through tight spots and climbing down steep rock formations.  It was a bit of a challenge but I am so glad we went.

Thank you Zach and Lynda for showing us such a good time!

Friday we ended up just taking Natalie to the doctor for her eyes and ears.  Poor girl had a goopy eye and ear infections.  We decided to relax at home for the rest of the day.  Saturday we recovered slightly and were able to go hang out at Ryan and BJ's home for a BBQ and egg decorating.  The girls had fun playing and Zach and I got to enjoy a yummy steak dinner!
Spring Break was a lot of fun this year.  We got to do many fun things and see lots of friends.  I am officially wiped out though from the constant running around and glad the kids are back in school this week!

Mom's Spring Break

I find it completely annoying the the CSN spring break does not line up with Clark County School district spring break.  So even though next week the kids will be off school, I will still have to go.  Really annoying right?  So this week I decided since I didn't have any studying to do or classes to go to that I would make it a great week even though the kids had school.  So here is what we did on my spring break.

Monday
A friend of mine planned and awesome FHE activity at the park.  There was a great turn out and it was tons of fun.  Can't wait for the next one!

Tuesday
Natalie and I met up with Molly and her two adorable boys for some park fun, then went to lunch at Cafe Rio of course.  (I am going to blame Cafe Rio for why I can't lose my Natalie Baby weight)
Later that day...
We met up with Danielle and her cutie pie kids and had an impromptu water session, I didn't think the water was on this early but hey if they want to freeze their little tushes off who are we to say they shouldn't?
Wednesday
We met up with the Grubb family for a little after school scooting, and ended up pigging out on some really good popcorn Laura brought.  Yum!
Thursday
Natalie and I met up with Chrissy, Cooper and Aubrey.  I must be getting tired since I didn't snap a picture, but it was pretty cute watching Aubrey and Natalie explore the outskirts of the park.  We just watched them from the blanket and wondered what they were talking about.

My big girls got home from school today and asked...where are we going today Mom?  I had to let them down and explain that I am pooped from all of our park excursions.  It has been a fun week for me and I am excited for their spring break next week.
I can tell you what Friday is going to look like for Natalie and I......
...lots of ZZZzzzzzzz... and cleaning of course.

Busy Saturday

We had a pretty busy Saturday, Zachary had a tournament, the girls had dance and I had a RS Brunch to attend.  Since I was gone in the morning, Zach handled getting everyone where they needed to go then came and picked me up from the brunch.  After that we went to Zachary's tournament, he placed third in sparing, and did pretty darn good overall.  After the tournament was over we headed to the park for a little QT with the family.   Zach got the kids these cool little helicopters that are pretty fun.  Daddy shoots them and they chase them.  Great activity for them to get moving!  After the park everyone was tired and hungry so we picked up some Cafe Rio and got home just in time for Daddy to watch the GSP fight...except he fell asleep.  Overall a busy but fun day!

Arrival of Spring

For the last few years the only thing I could think about spring was being sick and pregnant.  All three of my pregnancies started out in the spring and anytime I thought about spring, I would start to feel somewhat sick to my stomach.
I think I have been officially cured of those bad feelings.  I am in love with spring this year, I am trying to soak in every last drop of this stunning weather before it gets outrageously hot.

I am so happy that my children are loving this weather also, they ask me to roll down the windows so the cool air can tickle their faces, they will play at the park all evening if I let them, they are pointing out the flowers and blossoms on the trees.  It is such a good time of year, fall better step it up or I might have a new favorite season!
Poor Alexis took a pretty bad tumble!

My pretty little ducks in a row.  This makes me happy!

Weekend

Alexis and Rebecca got to have a sleepover at Grandpa's last weekend and that left me with just two girls for the night.  Since the twins are my most boisterous children, it was no surprise that the house was a little quieter for the evening.  We had a relaxing evening and then went to bed.

In the morning I took Maile to get her glasses fixed and then we did a little shopping and after that headed to the park.  It was a bit windy so we brought Natalie's new Dora kite to play with.  Too bad it was a dud and didn't really fly very high, or stay up for longer than a minute.  The girls had fun anyhow.  After we played for a bit, Grandpa and the twins met up with us and so did Auntie Anna and Jeff.  We had fun playing at the park and kicking the soccer ball around.  It turned out to be a great day!

Potty

I had been putting off potty training Natalie for many different reasons.  I have  school twice a week and I didn't want to put off the potty training duty on anyone else, Natalie just didn't seem ready and I will admit, potty training is hard and I was being LAZY!  Flash forward to this past week.  We all had a few days off school so Tuesday I decided that we would stay home a start training Natalie.  Extra motivation was I was down to just a few diapers and didn't feel like going to the store.

So today is Friday and she is pretty much trained.  We have not had one accident except for when she was having the runs a little on Wed. and tooted a little mess.  Other than that she has gone on the potty and has even been dry over night.  We have gone out of the house several times and even did pee-pee on the church toilet.  I am blown away by how easy this child has been.  I keep waiting for her to have an accident but I am crossing my fingers that it won't happen.

Maybe this is her way of apologizing for her terrible sleep habits and thanking me for laying with her every night.  I would way rather do that than have to clean up potty messes!

Time is moving too fast.  I love my cute girls, I love who they are growing into, I just wish it would slow down!

A Vegas Winter

One of the best things about Las Vegas is the mild winter.  I love that we usually have weeks in January and February that are downright beautiful.
We eat these days up.
They are not to be wasted because before we know it,  we will be boiling again.
Here are some pictures from our park adventures last week.

The Friday before last I took Natalie to the park during the day.  We had a snack picnic, gazed at the clouds, shooed bee's out of my bag and took a nice stroll.  We also stopped to see some horses and of course the Pee cocks that like to roam nearby one of our favorite parks.

That afternoon since we really didn't have any plans we went back to the park when the girls got out of school.  It was drizzling a tiny bit and the girls were so happy I let them stay to play in the rain.  Natalie loved having Becca ride her on the back of her trike.

Tuesday and Thursday we met up with the Grubb boys for some fun park play.  It is so funny to see 6 crazy kids whiz by on their scooters.   We also played a little duck duck goose, relay races, soccer and freeze tag.  Laura is one amazing mother, three boys the same age is no walk in the park.  They are some seriously good boys btw, please don't get the wrong idea, I am just comparing the girl/boy difference!

When Alexis and Rebecca were smaller I used to put them back to back in the baby swings.  They are too old for that now but we were still a swing short.  Now they can just ride face to face.  They loved this, and I loved how much fun they were having together!

Finally this past Saturday we stopped by a fun Henderson park before we went to Urijah's birthday bash.  This is such a neat park, just so different from the usual thing.
