Youth Conference

Zach and I were asked this year to  be a chaperon/driver for our Stake Youth Conference.  We said yes and then at the last minute found out that Zach would have to stay home to work.  Not wanting to miss a chance to see what Youth Conference is all about, I decided to go even though I would be without my hubby.
It was a great decision, I had the best time helping with the youth, it was a very exciting experience.  Zachary also got to attend and was a good sport about having me there to bug him and take a few pictures of him.  Lucky for him, he was in a different van so he didn't have to have me hovering over him all weekend.
I got to drive the Yellow #1 group and I think I lucked out, all the youth in my van were either quiet or funny.  I was partnered up with a friend from my old ward and we had a pretty fun time driving around together with our pack of kids.
There were many activities packed into a day and a half trip that left all of us exhausted but spiritually uplifted for sure.  It was so nice to see how well the youth interacted with each other, helping each other along and encouraging one another.  To hear all that they had learned and what they were taking home with them was very refreshing.  It is not everyday you have teenager after teenager expressing their feelings to a big group of people.
I learned so much from this experience and I believe Zachary did too.  The only big hiccup for me on this trip was when I locked my keys in the van.  That was a pretty big oops but of course it worked out OK and turned out to not be that big a deal.
There was so much work that was put into Youth Conference, the stake leaders and the ward level youth leaders do so much to make these activities turn out well, I was just in awe of how everyone came together for the good of our youth.  I am lucky to have been a part of such a great weekend!
