Ragnar 2015

Right around this time last year, maybe a bit earlier a group of us decided to sign up for the Ragnar Race in November. I was training really hard for my half marathon and it sounded like a great idea and had no doubt I would be ready. Then the summer came and my last semester of school and I didn't run at all. Come September I started trying to get back into running but just couldn't quite find the motivation to get Ragnar ready. Next thing I know it was November and then race day. So I went into the two days of running less than prepared and the running part was pretty tough, especially my 3rd leg which consisted of 7.5 miles of insane switchbacks. Thank goodness for my Uncle who paced me and kept me going when I wanted to quit. The whole spending two days in a van with 5 other awesome women was certainly the highlight. Running aside, it was two of the most fun days that I had the pleasure of experiencing in a long time. No kids. No husbands. Hard work. Lots of laughs. Word on the street is that we are planning a encore race this coming November. I can't wait. My goal this time around is to be ready. Hopefully.
